Premier/Twenty20 Match Reports - Week 26 (13-14 Oct 2018)

FCCC @ CSCC: Premier - 10:00AM Saturday Oct 13th 2018 at Memorial Park Rose Bowl, Colorado Springs – Reported by Hamayun Zaheer(CSCC)

On Sat Oct. 13th, CSCC hosted FCCC for the Premier Plate Championship. Surprisingly it turned out be a great day with temps hovering in the mid 60’s. CSCC won the toss and elected to bat first. FCCC opening bowler Amit soon had CSCC reeling at 10 for 3. Vamsi joined Vikas at the wicket and started rebuilding the innings. Both the batsmen played out the good balls, and put away the bad ones.
Prasanna came in to bat with 4 wickets down and played an amazing innings of 40 not out, and provided the much needed finish to the CSCC innings. Kangesh joined hands with Prasanna and stamped his authority by scoring 31 off 20 balls. Vikas scored 32, Vamsi ended up with a well-made 31. For FCCC, the pick of the bowlers was Amit Thakar with 3 wickets. Rishi and Venkatesh picked up two wickets each. From 3 down with 10 on the board, CSCC finished with 186 for the loss of 8 wickets.

Playing with only 8 players, it was always going to be a tough ask for FCCC to chase down 186. Nonetheless, FCCC opener Amit came out to bat in aggressive mood, and started putting the bad balls in gaps and ended up scoring 32 off 45. The other notable contributions came from Sagar, who scored 19, and Venkatesh, who scored a brisk 25. For CSCC, Santosh was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets in 6.1 overs. Prasanna, Narayan, Varun and Kervyn picked one wicket each. In the end, FCCC were bowled out for 97 in 22.3 overs.

Man of the Match: Prasanna Damodaran for scoring 40* off 52, providing the initial break-thru wicket and holding on to a catch.
