2013 Central West Tournament in Houston over Memorial Weekend (25th thru 27th May 2013)

After a two year hiatus, CCL will be once again playing in the Central West regional tournament. This year the tournament will be held in Houston, Texas during the Memorial weekend(25-26-27 May 2013). The ground address is: 9114 Katy Hockley Road, Katy, TX 77493.

The organizers have gone all out to put on a great show. Six teams will be participating in the event – Houston Cricket League (Houston), North Texas Cricket Association (Dallas), Central Texas Cricket League (Austin), Heartland Cricket League (Nebraska/Iowa), Colorado Cricket League (Colorado) and a Chairman’s XI comprising of promising U-23 players from the region.

They are also looking for Umpires and scorers and these will be paid positions.

The organizers have been kind enough to waive our entry fee and will also provide meals and accommodations for 3 nights.
The Hotel address is Quality Inn, 715 Hwy 6 S, Houston, TX 77079.
If anyone wants a separate room or wants to stay back on Monday night and fly back on Tuesday, additional rooms can be booked at $61 per night.
If you wish to make a booking, please go thru Ashish Singhal, as he is the team Manager.

CCL has finalized its squad. We are sending a strong 15 member team and we are expecting the boys to make us proud. The following players have been selected to represent the league at this tournament.

The Central West also recognizes one person from each league as “Ambassador of Cricket” for their role in promoting cricket. CCL has selected Manoj Gangwar for this award.

The tournament will be played in colored clothing and with white CA balls. CCL has chosen a sky blue uniform with mountains in the background and ‘COLORADO’ in bold across the front. (Check this article about the Team Colorado Shirt design)

Central West Tournament Format:

The tournament will be a three day event played in an exciting 50-over and T20 combination format.

Day 1: 50 over games between the six teams
A vs B
C vs D
E vs F

Day 2: The top 2 teams from day 1, based on win and run rate will battle for the 50 over championship. These 2 teams will also qualify for the T20 semi finals. The other 4 teams will play 2 T20 games and the top 2 teams based on wins and run rate will decide the other 2 T20 semi finalists.

#1 vs #2 – 50 over finals

#3 vs #6 – T20 AM game
#4 vs #5 – T20 AM game

#3 vs #5 – T20 PM game
#4 vs #6 - T20 PM game

Day 3: T20 semi finals in the morning. The bottom 2 teams will also play a consolation game in the morning. T20 finals and 3rd place games will be played in the afternoon.

#1 vs #4 - T20 Semi Final
#2 vs #3 – T20 Semi Final
#5 vs #6 – Consolation game

Winner SF1 vs Winner SF2 – T20 Finals
Loser SF1 vs Loser SF2 – T20 3rd place

There will be a Dinner Banquet on Sunday night (26-May) in a casual atmosphere, starting at 7:30pm. Darren Beasley USACA CEO is expected to attend the function.
